Bunkerspark

Today we are all being encouraged to get more exercise. On our own doorstep we have the ever evolving Bunkers Park to enjoy.

The park came into being when Bunkers Farm was shut. Some of the land was taken on by a neighbouring farm, whilst another large tract was taken into public ownership. The project was started in 1997 and involved plating of woodland and wide open spaces, very popular on windy days with kite fliers .

There is a support group called "Friends of Bunkers Park". They work in conjunction with the council to improve the natural facilities of the site for all to enjoy.
